Who we are

This website is run by Friends of Kaleem Caire (“the campaign”), the candidate committee for Kaleem Caire for Mayor of Madison, Wisconsin. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Using the site

You are welcome to use this site to learn about Kaleem and to take part in the campaign. When you use it, please do not:

• submit information that is false, or that belongs to someone else without their permission;
• try to disrupt the site, get around its security or overload it with automated requests;
• copy the site’s content in bulk for commercial use;
• use the campaign’s name, logo or photos in a way that suggests the campaign endorses you, your product or another candidate.

Contributions

Contributions are processed by ActBlue, a third-party platform, not by this website. ActBlue’s own terms and privacy policy apply when you give.

Contributions are subject to Wisconsin campaign finance law, including contribution limits and public reporting. The campaign must report information about its contributors, such as name and address and, in some cases, occupation and employer.

When you contribute, you confirm that the money is your own and that you are legally eligible to give. Contributions to the campaign are not tax deductible.

Volunteering, email and text messages

When you sign up to volunteer or to receive updates, you give us information such as your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code and interests. We use it to organize volunteers and to keep you informed about the campaign. It is stored with the service providers we use for this work, including Google and Mailchimp.

You can stop campaign emails at any time with the unsubscribe link in any message. If you agreed to text messages, reply STOP to any text to opt out; message and data rates may apply. You can also ask us to update or remove your information by writing to info@caireformadison.com.

Our Privacy Policy explains in detail what we collect and how we use it.

Our content

The text, logo, photos, video and design of this site belong to the campaign or are used with permission. You may link to the site and quote it for news coverage, commentary and personal, non-commercial use, with credit to Caire for Madison.

The biographies and photo in the Media Kit may be used for news coverage and to introduce Kaleem at events.

Links to other sites

This site links to services the campaign does not control, such as ActBlue, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and the campaign is not responsible for their content.

Accuracy and availability

We work to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but we provide it “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We may change, pause or remove any part of the site at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the campaign, its candidate, treasurer, staff and volunteers are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using this site or relying on its content.

Translations

This site is offered in English, Spanish, Hmong and French. Translations are provided for convenience. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version applies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
